While we all start getting into the spirit of the holiday, it’s important to remember those within our community who are facing hardships. That’s why we’ve created the Murfreesboro Holiday Giving Event! We bring the strength of our community together to bring toys, clothes and gift cards to families in our neighborhoods who need us. This year, the event will be held on December 16th at The Tasty Table on N Church St in Downtown Murfreesboro.

This event is in support of the local non-profit organizations, Cold Patrol. The Cold Patrol services homeless men, women and families in the community by making sure that they have food, clothing, and shelter through the coldest months of the year. They also work with those people to help them prepare to reenter the workforce and help them get permanent housing. While these men and women are working hard to make big changes, our goal is to help collect presents for their children to help make sure they have the best holiday ever! We also accept gift cards for things like gas, groceries and household items for the parents.

Every little bit helps, so we urge you to give, even if you think your contribution might not be enough to make a difference. Want to do more? Together, we can help make a great holiday season even better for the families within our community that need us!

Staying home for the holidays? There’s no better time to be in the Boro! Come to the historic downtown square for a lineup of FREE events that the whole family will enjoy, like the annual tree lighting event on Friday, December 6th at 6 PM. Enjoy special Christmas music and entertainment, beautiful window displays, the arrival of Santa & Mrs. Claus, and lighting of the official Rutherford County Christmas Tree!

There are also lots of events happening for adults like the Holiday Sip ‘N Shop events happening every Friday of December! All of the boutique shops on the square will be opening their doors 2 hours later on these nights and providing free wine samples to shoppers! So, don’t stress, because you’re going to find something for everyone on your list. Don’t keep this event a secret, it’s always more fun to bring a friend to Sip ‘N Shop!
